Just about every serious hunter or outdoorsman has a Model 110 Buck knife, has owned one or wants one. Since it was introduced 50 years ago, the trusty lock-blade folding hunting knife has become an outdoorsman’s favorite — elegant in design and businesslike on the belt.
But while it may be the best known product of Post Falls, Idaho-based Buck Knives, the Model 110 is far from its only one. The company has offered as many as 300 items and the current catalog features some 200 SKUs. It offers a dazzling assortment of high quality knives and related products, also accommodating custom orders and “one-offs.” Its distribution network is dazzling as well, ranging from specialty hunting shops to big outdoors retailers like REI, Gander Mountain and Bass Pro Shops to broad-based retail giants like Wal-Mart and Costco. When you’re talking chocolate rabbits, you’re talking Frankford Candy’s language: Philadelphia-headquartered, privately owned Frankford Candy and Chocolate Company is one of the largest producers of the confection in the United States.
Founded in 1947, the company also markets a host of other candy products as well, producing many of them domestically but sourcing abroad as well. It operates out of a 500,000 square foot facility located on a 23-acre site in the city’s northeast Frankford section for which it is named. Many of the products are sold under Frankford’s own brands with the balance carrying the logos of major licensees, such as Disney, Hello Kitty and Nickelodeon. (more…)
